FLASH
MOVIE SUMMARY
Our
Flash presentation provides a short introduction to the issues,
and demonstrates how the public relations rhetoric from the oil
industry and the Bush administration contradicts the government's
own research and background information. The movie also features
a spokeswoman from the Gwich'in people, whose lives would be severely
impacted if drilling is permitted.
The
presentation uses the Macromedia Flash Player. If you do not have
this on your computer, you will be prompted to download it and
it will install itself automatically.
The
presentation runs about 7 minutes. If you connect to the Intenet
using a 56k modem, it should take about 3 minutes for the movie
to start (depending on internet traffic). It is well worth the
wait. If you have a fast connection, it should, of course, start
much sooner.
If
internet traffic is particularly heavy, the presentation may stop
and start at times. (or stop and not restart). If this happens
to you, we recommend that you either download the whole movie
(see the link below) or try again when traffic is less. If you
have problems, read our troubleshooting
guide.
Make
sure sound is enabled on your computer - the movie is not very
good without it!
This
presentation is also available for reuse on your own site, or
may be downloaded and freely distributed to family, friends, and
coworkers. Contact webmaster
for instructions on how to integrate it with your site.
