MULTIMEDIA SLIDE SHOWS
INTRODUCTION

During the spring, summer, and fall of 1998, photographer Ken Madsen travelled 1250 kilometers by foot, raft, kayak and canoe through the 'Caribou Commons', the migratory route of the Porcupine Caribou Herd. Included in his journey was the calving grounds in the Arctic Wildlife Refuge. Along the way he met and travelled with the musicians who created the music you will hear. The Caribou Commons Project a unique collaboration between aboriginal people, artists, and conservationists was the outgrowth of that experience. CDs of all of the music are available at their site. We present several selections here, which combine music, lyrics and award winning photographs. They tell a compelling story of what would be lost if drilling occurs in the Arctic Refuge.

You need RealPlayer installed on your computer to view the selections. We will be adding other formats in the near future. For instructions on how to download and install the free version of RealPlayer, Click Here.

Also be sure that sound is working on your computer. The shows are not much good without it!

If you connect to the internet with a modem, instead of a high speed connection (such as cable, DSL, or a high speed company network), we suggest you first Click Here for suggestions on how to best experience the slide shows with a modem.

Each presentation may be either previewed, which means you can view it soon after clicking on it, or you can download it for viewing. The preview will give you the entire show, however the quality of the downloaded version may be better since it is run from your computer and is not subject to internet traffic problems.
